About St. Nicholas Tele-Santa

Everything you need to know about the program, how it works, and how you can get involved!

The Program

With the support of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, the St. Nicholas Tele-Santa Program was launched to minister to families of the Archdiocese of America.  The program provides free Spirit of Christmas video calls to Orthodox children from St. Nicholas and his disciple Santa Claus. Please take the time to explore our website, learn about the program, and contact us if you have any questions!  Make sure to schedule a call for the children in your life today, and to share this program with other families who may wish to receive Christ's Love and the Spirit of Christmas in  their homes.  Enjoy!

The Spirit of Christmas

The Spirit of Christmas icon was created by Leonidas Diamantopoulos at the direction of the Saint Nicholas – Tele-Santa executive committee. The icon depicts the birth of Jesus and shows a symbolic Icon of St. Nicholas passing forward a Cross and a gift to the modern-day Santa Claus. The icon inspires children and adults that Christmas is about remembering and honor the birth of Jesus and encourages LOVE which trumps hate. St. Nicholas was known for his acts of kindness and love. Orthodox Christians venerate our icons to teach our young children about our Orthodox faith.

The Spirit of Christmas icon is used by our St. Nicholas Tele-Santas to help explain the correlation between Saint Nicholas the Saint and the modern day Santa to children.

Our Vision

Our vision is to expand the St. Nicholas Tele-Santa Program to include an individual “Santa Claus” for each Orthodox Christian Church.  The St. Nicholas Tele-Santa Program would help educate children about the original Santa, who was a Greek Orthodox Christian Bishop and eventually became St. Nicholas of Myra. Our goal is to share the love and hope that St. Nicholas gave to those children and their families. We hope to bring our faithful closer to the Orthodox Christian Church and Jesus Christ.
