The Red Santa Suit is a white fur trimmed red jacket and pants and traditional Santa Hat with a white pom pom hanging down to the shoulder. If you are thin and your belly does not quite wobble like a “bowl full of jelly” you can bring up to Santa’s standard by adding some padding. The padding is not necessary on the Tele Santa calls.
Don’t forget the Three B’s: Beard (full white beard or designer Santa Beard), Belt (4 inch wide Black Leather Belt), and black Boots (high boot to reach bottom of Red Santa Pants with the fur cuffs). A large belt buckle is necessary for the wide belt. White cotton gloves are also needed (Santa always wears these gloves for in person appearances). Glasses worn by Santa are half moon spectacles worn at the end of his nose. Be sure to take off your jewelry like a watch and rings.
Note: Always use a dry cleaner who will use ONLY fresh, clean chemicals and those who are known for handling fur items. If you have or are having a Santa Suit made where the fur is removable for the cleaning of the red suit, all the better. BEWARE of pink fur!!
The St. Nicholas-TeleSanta has a white Greek Fisherman’s Cap with the Holly pin* attached to the top of the cap for casual Santa dress. The casual dress can include a white Santa Claus balloon sleeve shirt (see: www.medievalcollectibles.com), a vest – (red or a Santa decorated vest) and red pants (by Dickies) with black casual shoes.
*The Holly pin on the Greek fisherman’s cap with its Holly with thorns remind Christians of the crown of thorns that Jesus wore when he was crucified and the blood he shed during that event.

Learn the "St. Nicholas Opening Statement"

This is to be said at the beginning of every St. Nicholas TeleSanta call with children old enough to understand it.
Learn (or be very familiar with) The Spirit of Christmas Children's Prayer
-
Every Santa will close the TeleSanta call by asking those children who can take Santa’s direction to “repeat after Santa” when praying the prayer:
-
“Heavenly King, I thank you for St. Nicholas Tele-Santa calling me and sharing the Spirit of Christmas with me. The Spirit has opened my eyes to see clearly that Your birth is the door to all blessings. The blessing of my parents, family, teachers and community that support my many needs with care and patience. I pray that the Spirit of Christmas gives me strength to live in Your light throughout the year and all my life. Amen”
